This historically designated institution of learning was constructed in the 1850’s and is located in the heart of the University of Toronto’s downtown campus in Toronto, ON.

Brick masonry units were sourced from England, UK to establish the most suitable match during the restoration. Mortar joint repointing was performed at various locations throughout the building.

The work included extensive slate roof replacement. Replacement units were sourced from Vermont, USA. New copper roofs, gutters and downspouts were installed at various locations throughout the building.

The foundation walls were repaired and a liquid applied waterproofing membrane was installed at locations throughout the grounds.

The existing wood windows and other architectural wood features were restored and repainted. Some architectural iron features were also restored.

The complex restoration of a large stained glass features was undertaken as part of the work.
