Project: Union Station
Location: Toronto, ON
Owner: Metrolinx
Heritage Consultant (Prime): Halcrow Yolles
(Sub): Zeidler Partnership Architects

Built in the 1910’s Union Station is a historically designated site which remains the busiest transportation hub in Canada and a modern day architectural marvel in downtown Toronto, ON.

This five year project includes the repair of portions of the existing stone façade and brick masonry walls including the removal and replacement of units, composite stone patching and mortar joint repointing.

The existing precast concrete smoke vents and cast in place concrete bulkheads above the train tracks are being removed and replaced with new concrete elements.

A plank finish to match the original concrete pour lines is being replicated for the new precast and cast in place units.

More than 2500 cubic metres of concrete will be utilized in the rehabilitation of this building.
