This iconic Canadian monument is a historically designated site which was constructed during the 1920’s from Roman Stone (precast concrete).

Extensive restoration and reconstruction of this structure were undertaken including the replacement of all statues including seated figures, seahorses, Ontario coat of arms, columns and boat prow which are situated on top of the archway and the north/south pylons (excluding the Goddess of Winged Victory which was repaired) over a two year period.

More than 500 wall stones were replaced and anchored using specialized Cintec anchors throughout the structure including the four main columns, pedestals and capitals located at the archway which measure more than 60 feet in height.

Mortar joint replacement was performed to 100% of the structure.

Structural steel stabilization was performed inside the structure to provide additional support to the structure.

New lead coated copper was installed at all roofs, cornices, ledges and wall bases.
